There’s a great way to make your phone ring more: it’s blog marketing. Sure. Everybody knows about blogging. It’s usually silly ramblings about diet fads, move stars, personal improvement and money. What else is there? Right? There’s business and getting your phone to start ringing. That’s what I learned about in 2012.
Blog Marketing explained
Using your blog as a marketing tool is actually simple. It was explained to me by the guy who created my new website. It’s nothing fancy. The most effective part of it is the marketing idea. It goes like this: pick a market that you want to attract. Write a blog about a subject that’s important to them (one of their hot buttons). Follow a pretty simple formula.
Write enough blogs, and you’ll start getting high Google rankings. And it works: blog marketing has gotten me noticed by more companies in the first year of using it than in the previous 10 years of having a website.
What’s your blog marketing goal?
Want to attract catering clients? Write a dozen blog posts about topics that would be interesting to potential clients. Want to sell more generators? Same idea: write blog posts about the problems that having a generator solves. Want to attract more patients to your medical practice? Or your physical therapy practice? Blog marketing will get you hits that will lead people to your website.
Blog writing isn’t hard.
The toughest blog post you’ll write is the first one. Or the second one. But one by one, every blog post gets easier. Write enough “hyper targeted” blog posts and you’ll build an effective blog marketing strategy, and your phone will start ringing with more customers. Need ideas?
