Top of mind.  Do you know what to do to stay there?

They say that absence makes the heart grow fonder. But nobody says that about business. Today, more than ever, we have lots of tools to keep in touch with customers and prospects.  But so does your competition.  So staying top of mind is more important than ever.

When the pandemic hit, everything changed. Finding innovative ways to communicate in Connecticut became more important than ever before.

Top of Mind Awareness depends on how you communicate

Communicating clearly and often is just as important in 2021 and that will continue. You’ll want to keep customers informed of changes, how you meet their needs, and how you’re making them feel safe. Of course, you’ll also want to keep them engaged and interested in your products or services.

So what should you do??

When it comes to communication for your business, you want to use a the right information channel at the right time.

Make sure that anyone can find you no matter where they may be looking.

  • Your networking group
  • Networking in your Connecticut community
  • Your website
  • Listing and review sites
  • Email
  • Social media channels
  • Direct mail
  • Advertising
  • Messages on hold

The idea is to keep in touch with your customers to stay top of mind so they’ll be more likely to do business with you.

Remember, you have to reach people where they already are: at events, on social media, or with well placed advertising and sponsorships.  For your existing customers, you’ll be able to reach them with e-newsletters, email or personal phone calls.

When you invest in social media, you want to be on the platforms your current and potential customers are already using. Think about the demographics of your audience, their age, and interests to determine which platforms are best.   Then learn about how they show your posts.

There is no one-size-fits-all approach

How active should you be?  If you’re not communicating enough, you’re missing out on sales. And if you’re over-communicating, you run the chance of turning them off.

The answer is that there are no absolute answer.  The only thing that’s for sure is that you’ve got to communicate with customers and prospects if you’re going to succeed.  How are you communicating?
