OHP 6000 Problem : do you have the same problem?

Recently a handyman service in Fairfield, CT got in touch with us about advertising on hold for his OHP 6000 Problem : the digital player was playing messages on hold that were so old, he couldn’t remember when he bought them.  He wanted new Informer Messages to help grow his business.  We made an appointment, and later that week we met at his office.  He was interested in marketing hold with messages.  His goals were to educate his phone callers about the wide variety of repairs and construction projects he could help his clients with.  He signed up on the spot and we started working on a script for him.

OHP 6000 Problem

OHP 6000 Problem: your messages aren’t helping you

This Connecticut Handyman company actually had old messages playing on ah OHP 6000 digital player.  He had had the OHP 6000 for several years, and eventually just turned it off when the on hold messages programmed on it got old.  The OHP is a sleek looking unit, with no doors or other major openings.  If you just look at the on hold player, it’s not evident where to load a new message, or how to do it.  The OHP 6000 was designed to play mp3 files.  It’s the least expensive digital player the manufacturer has ever made, and I guess they cut manufacturing costs by simply installing a mini usb plug.  To record new messages on hold into the USB 6000, you have to physically attach it to your computer with a USB cable.  When you do you can “see” it in “My Computer” and add or delete mp3 files stored on it.  Everyone likes to get a good deal, but later we often regret being “penny wise” but creating more work for us.

Replace the OHP 6000 Problem with a Nel Tech Messager USB

We worked with the Handyman Company and revised their script until they said it was perfect.  The script focused on their best opportunities for the coming months: we already planned to update their messages on hold every season, because each season presents unique home repair opportunities and problems.  We decided to replace the OHP 6000 with a brand new Nel Tech Messager USB because it was easier to work with.  The on hold player was free, with their Informer service.  To change the recordings on the Messager USB, you just unplug the USB drive, and plug it into your computer.  It’s easier than removing the OHP 6000 from where it’s mounted to the wall.

Keeping your messages on hold updated on a specific schedule can help you capitalize on specific seasonal opportunities.  We proactively contact our clients to brainstorm and offer ideas, and then write a new script for their feedback.  You can get this same service in a Free 15-minute strategy session by calling (in Fairfield, CT) 203-655-3920, or (800) 862-8896.  Then we make it easier with a digital on hold player that’s easier to update than the OHP 6000.
