OHP 6000 Instructions

Recording your on hold recording on the OHP 6000 is simple, but requires a few steps.  The OHP plays mp3 recordings.  There are two ways to load music for playing on the system.

Loading mp3 files on your OHP 6000

The first way to load an mp3 file on the OHP is to use the USB cable that was included when you bought the system.  (If you’ve lost it please call us and we’ll give you the cable model number so you can purchase it from a local electronics store)

  1. Connect the OHP 6000 to your computer’s USB jack
  2. Left click the “Start” button and click on My Computer.  You probably have the mp3 file you’d like to use in one of two places.
    1. In My Documents or My Music
    2. Attached to an email
  3. The Intellitouch OHP 6000 player comes pre-programmed with licensed background music.  Before you save the file to the OHP, be sure to erase (or save) any mp3 files that are already on the player’s memory, or else all mp3 files in memory will play.
  4. I usually recommend right clicking on the mp3 file, and “Save As” to the player.

The OHP 6000 comes preloaded with licensed background music

The OHP players come pre-loaded with licensed music.  The advantage is that it’s free mp3 music that you can use legally.  The downside is that thousands of other businesses use this same music, so you sound just like them.  And it’s just music: there’s no mention of your business or how you can help your customers.

Since the OHP 6000 can play anything you want on it, you do have other options:  You can use music (you should always use licensed music), generic messages, customized messages, or completely custom written marketing messages.  It’s not advisable (or legal) to play your favorite music on hold even if you’ve “paid for it.”  When you buy music from iTunes or another source, you’re buying the right to play it for your own enjoyment, not “broadcast” it (playing it on your telephone’s “hold” button it considered “broadcasting”).   At the very least, you should have “customized” messages playing on hold.  They’re pretty generic, and are not a marketing tool, but they’re free.  Click here for more information to get yours.

The OHP 6000 is fine for playing music on hold.  But if music on hold isn’t enough, its time to look into marketing messages on hold.  Your OHP 6000 can play a completely custom message that uses marketing strategy and informs your callers about how you can help them better than your competition.  For a free 15-minute strategy session about how marketing messages can make your OHP 6000 a marketing tool, call (800) 862-8896.
