To find the music on hold installation jack, first you have to find the “box on the wall” that houses your phone system. Its usually a “taupe” colored (the color of older computers) box hanging on the wall of a closet or basement. You’ll see lots of wires running into and out from it. It may actually say “Lucent” or “Avaya” on the outside. The cover may be secured by a single screw at the bottom. Unscrew the screw, and tip the cover up. It’s easy to lift the cover up. Lift it slowly and you won’t ever touch the electronics inside.

Most Partner systems have three vertical processors inside the box.
The Phone Music installation jack is a small dull silver circle in the middle of one of the vertical processors. To attach your hold music or on hold messages, you simply plug an audio cable with an RCA jack on the end into the MOH jack.
Some RCA jacks may not fit, but this is easy to fix. If the plastic around the RCA jack covers too much of outside of the metal connector, simply trim it away with a packing knife or razor. This will expose more of the silver connector, so it can slide into the MOH jack. Your hold music installation is almost complete!
