How to Load Music on hold on Ring Central Phones: It’s easy.

Ring Central phones come with the ability to change your music on hold. That’s a good thing, because the “default” on hold music isn’t anybody’s favorite.  It’s not on anyone’s playlist.  So here’s how to load music on hold on Ring Central Phones.

How to Load Music on hold on Your Ring Central Phones

Statistics show that 69% of business phone callers are placed on hold.  So Ring Central makes it easy to change the music your callers will hear while they’re waiting.  The company gives simple directions on how to do it:

  1. Log in to your RingCentral online account.
  2. Go to Settings Screening, Greeting, & Hold Music User Hours tab.
  3. Below Hold Music, select Enable, then click Edit.
  4. Click the Set Audio drop-down list.
  5. Select Ring TonesMusic, or Custom: select Custom
  6. ThenBrowse then upload the Informer Message on hold.
  7. Click Done
  8. Click Save.

And you’ve done it.

Remember to used Licensed Music

Don’t make the mistake of loading your favorite song onto your phones.  Music should be properly licensed, because it actually “belongs” to the musician…and because you can be fined if you’re caught using unlicensed music.  Really!

Is that really all you want?

Your callers now hear licensed music on hold.  But they’re not calling to listen to music.  They’re probably called because they want information, they want help.  So why not give it to them?

Custom Messages on hold

You can give your callers information that they want, and that you want them to have, with custom messages on hold.  The right information will depend on who is calling you (customers?  prospects?) and what most of them ask.  The nice thing is that you can give them the exact information that you want them to have, and even update it for different seasons, holidays, or other reasons.

But no matter what you want your callers to hear, at least it’s better than the “default” music on hold!
