Back to School means Back to Work: What are you doing to succeed?

Back to school means back to work.
Now that September is here, and kids are back to school, we all get that same feeling: September is time to focus.

Luckily, the economy is still forecast to support us with continuing growth.  Entrepreneur Magazine research shows promising growth by American small and medium sized businesses.

So, what are you doing to maximize your growth this season?
Entrepreneur’s article says that “Smart Business Owners are prioritizing marketing…”

Start with a well thought out plan, using proven marketing tactics.  They always pay the best dividends. They tell you to

  • Keep your marketing simple: focus each of your marketing tactics on specific goals. Keep them clear in your mind, and don’t water them down with unfocused marketing messages.
  • Focus on your target market: We might not be able to describe our target market, but we know it when we see it. Marketing success usually follows the 80/20 rule (also known as the Pareto Principle): 20% of your customers will result in 80% of your sales and profits.  That’s where you should concentrate your energy and financial investment.
  • Timing is everything, according to Apple’s John Sculley. It pays to deliver “the right message to the right people at the right time.”  When is that?  When they’re thinking about you, and want your help.

What are your best marketing opportunities this season?  Introducing new products and services?  Reminding customers about your best sellers?  Or reinforcing how you stand out from the competition?

Summer is ending.  Now’s the time to plan and launch your September marketing efforts before they get drown out by the upcoming Holiday season.  We’re all still putting the Pandemic downturn behind us, but with proper planning and the right marketing moves, 2023 can be a year to remember.
