What are “messages on hold”?

Messages on hold are a highly targeted Guerilla Marketing tool: they’re an inexpensive way to deliver “the right information to the right people at the right time.”  Everyone who hears them is a customer or is interested in your help.  The best messages on hold will reinforce the advantages of working with you, and educate callers about more of the ways that you can help them.

Who writes the Script?

  1. We do.  The Informer is a complete service.  That means we want to do everything for you.  It’s a 9-step process
    1. Start with a Free Discovery Session.  We’ll take the time to get to know about you, your business, and your goals. The most important part comes next: who are your customers, and your callers?  What are their problems, their challenges, and what would they like to do? Only by understanding your unique situation can we create messages that your callers will respond to.
    2. Next comes strategy: using the information from your Discovery session, we’ll brainstorm a strategy that will help you get the best results from your Informer service: your current messages, and future updates if desired.
    3. Your script is written by the same pro who conducted your Discovery Session, so everything we talked about is used to your advantage
    4. Review and rewriting: there will be changes to your script, so we follow up with you (as many times as you’d like) revising your script until you say it’s perfect.
    5. Final approval: your script will only be recorded when you approve it for production
    6. Voice: you choose the voice you like best
    7. Licensed Background Music: you choose your background music from our library of over 200 different music samples in 8 different genres.  Do you have your own Jingle that you’d like to use?  Let’s listen to it together and we’ll let you know how it will work.
    8. Final approval: we send your Informer recordings for your final approval.  If there are any mistaken pronunciations or phrasing, we’ll rerecord.
    9. Installation: we’ll work with you to get your new Informer Messages working on your phone system ASAP.
      It’s all included in your Informer service.

How many words are in my script?

Your script has a job: to help you accomplish your goals and help your customers better.  The length of your script should be determined by your average hold time and the most important information to deliver to your callers.  It’s not filled with “fluff,” but it doesn’t leave out key ideas. There’s no “300 word limit” or “3-minute message”

Can I do a one-time recording? Can I update my messages? Some of our clients do the same thing today as they did years ago.  Nothing ever changes.  So you can have a one-time recording with no ongoing costs or licensing fees.  You own the recording.

Do I Need A Phone System?

No.  We work with clients who have just one VoIP Phone, and even a client who has a mobile phone (it only works with a few carriers).  Let’s talk about your business phones.

Will It Work On VoIP Phones?

Yes.  We work with virtually every major VoIP phone service company, as well as many phone installers “hosted” phone systems.

Will It Work With Call Waiting?

Sorry, it won’t.  Call Waiting is a different from placing a caller on hold.

Can I Use My Own Player?

PBX and Electronic phone systems usually use a digital playback system to play your messages on hold.  Your new Informer Messages can be formatted for use on your existing player.  If it’s working, we think you should use it.  If its time to replace it we have the newest digital players designed and manufactured in the US

Does Equipment Cost Extra?

No.  Your digital playback system is supplied for free as part of any of our Informer Full Service Plans.  We can supply an optional player for “one time recordings.”

Is There A Contract? Can I Cancel?

Unlike most companies, there are no “unbreakable” contracts: We guarantee you the price for two years, but you can cancel any time you’re not 100% satisfied.  There’s no cancellation fee.

Do You Record Greetings? Or Voicemail Greetings?

Yes.  You only get one chance to make a great first impression, so we include basic professional greetings for free with any Informer Messages

What About Spanish? Or Other Foreign Languages?

Yes.  Good service means helping your customer the way they want to be helped.  Our clients use Informer recordings in American English, British English, French, French Canadian, Spanish (US, Central America and South American), Brazilian Portuguese, German, Polish, Russian, Japanese, and more)

Does The Messages Start From The Beginning Each Time?

That depends on your phone system.  Messages continually “loop” on most PBX or Electronic Phone Systems.  On some VoIP Systems your messages start from the beginning.  Let’s talk about your specific phone system.
