I was lucky enough to attend the recent Connecticut Dental Association 2016 Charter Oak Dental Meeting at Mohegan Sun Conference Center (Uncasville, CT) last week.
The venue was spectacular. The Connecticut Dental Association members were more devoted to attending seminars (on new regulations, specialized advances in their fields, and growing their practices) than at any industry trade show that I’ve ever attended. And the reactions of the members were so enthusiastic, that the event had to be an absolute success.
Connecticut Dental Association Members
The Connecticut Dental Association Members came from across the state, with their staff in tow, to learn more in seminars and from the top vendors in the industry. There was so much new technology, and so many new ideas that it was amazing. During seminars the exhibition hall was quite…empty…attendees were all in seminars. No one (almost) snuck out. But when the seminar was over the doors were thrown wide, and out came the crowds, talking about the latest in dental advances.
I was invited into several of the Connecticut Dental Association‘s exhibitors’ booths. Dentists, practice managers, and staff visited, interested in new ideas. Many dentists looked into the latest ways to grow their practices…to help more patients…that exhibitors talking about the latest websites, SEO, reputation management and social media were all busy (but the booth with the “Loupes for under $300” seemed busiest of all!).
Connecticut Dental Association and HIPAA
Many of the attendees were interested in learning more about HIPAA requirements, and how to safeguard your data. Very important.
Growing Connecticut Dental Association Practices
Most of the excitement about growing Connecticut Dental Association members’ practices was focused on the internet. We all know that’s how we find information these days. But there’s fascinating information just released by Google that says that only about 3% of potential patients who click on your Pay Per Click Ad ever book a consult. But some learned about improving their odds. They found out about Informer Messages on hold, “the least expensive way to sound more professional” and grow your practice on every call. Informer Messages are marketing messages that educate patients (and potential patients) about how you can help them best. They’re proven to deliver the message that attracts new patients for Connecticut State Dental Association practices.
The more you improve your skills, your knowledge and your technology, the more you can help your patients. But be sure they know how you can help them. Make sure the odds are in your favor (unlike the casino slot machines) with marketing messages tailored to your practice.
