Testimonial Ads

This is the second part of a three-part discussion.  For the first article on Testimonial Ads, click here.

The toughest part of Testimonial advertising…is getting the testimonials.  You can provide great service and great products, but that doesn’t guarantee you’ll get testimonials without asking. So ask!  They’re great to use in your marketing.  Just ask if you can include their endorsement of your product or service in your testimonial ads.

Key Elements of Effective Testimonial Ads

Praise, even when it’s amazing praise, doesn’t make testimonial ads effective.  That mean you’ll have to choose the most effective testimonials–which include the important key elements: they’ve should be specific, mention your key benefits, and make statements that your prospective customers can relate to.  Testimonial ads that do this get your prospect to say, “Wow, I guess they can help me, too!”

Questions to ask when preparing Testimonial Ads

Testimonial Ads need good testimonials: you can either ask for them yourself, or ask us to help.  Here are a few questions to consider when asking for testimonials:

  1. What problem were you having before you bought our product?
  2. What results did you get when you tried our product?
  3. What specific feature did you like best about our product?
  4. Were there any other benefits you liked?
  5. Why would you recommend our product to others?
  6. May I “quote you” and include your quote in our marketing materials?

Getting a good quote may seem challenging, but with practice it becomes easier.  If you’re still not comfortable requesting testimonials, call us and we’ll walk you though the procedure, or we can get the testimonials for you.  We’ve gotten great testimonials from our clients who use Informer Messages on hold that have helped us gain more customers.

Where should you use testimonial ads?  Pretty much everywhere!  But let’s talk about innovative ways to put testimonial ads to use, in the final part of our series, Testimonial Marketing.
